About Us

Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, specifically Delaware County (better known by the locals as DELCO), Michael Correnti always dreamed of being an entrepreneur. Having worked in various kitchens throughout his highschool career Michael hardly showed any interest in continuing down that path upon graduating. For years Michael had various labor jobs until he eventually started his own garage door service company. Feeling unfulfilled in that venture, and ready for something new he made some drastic changes that would lead him down a different path.

In 2016 Michael made the bold decision to leave his family and friends behind as he charted a course for Austin Texas in search for a brighter future. In 2017 Michael met his now wife and co-owner Amber Correnti. They welcomed their daughter in 2021, and in 2022 moved to his wife’s hometown of Seguin Texas. After several months of living in Seguin, Michael quickly realized how difficult it was to find an authentic Philly cheesesteak considering the closest shop was 40 minutes away. Coming to the realization that cheesesteak shops in Seguin and the surrounding towns were effectively non-existent, Michael began to ponder over one simple question, “how many others are missing out?”.

As time went on the idea of opening a cheesesteak shop began to consume Michael but with having a family to support and bills to pay it made opening a restaurant feel more like a pipe dream. But little did Michael know, in April of 2023 his life was about to change. Right as Michael was laid off he was presented with an opportunity that would allow him to turn his dream into a reality.

AND SO... Mikey’s Philly Cheesesteaks was born!
